How do I get started?

You can go to the contact page and type in the section provided to set up an initial phone consultation. You are also welcome to give me a call. During our consultation, I’ll assess your needs and if it seems like a good fit for both of us, we'll set up our first session. I'll email you my initial paperwork for completion along with directions and parking.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out of network provider for PPO insurance plans and can provide a monthly superbill which you can submit for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to verify the details of your coverage, and understand that your services may or may not be covered in full. Here are some helpful questions that you can ask: (1) Do I have mental health benefits? (2) What is my deductible? (3) How many sessions per year does my plan cover? (4) How much does my plan cover for an out of network provider? (5) What is the amount covered per therapy session? (6) Is pre-authorization required prior to meeting with my potential therapist?

How long are sessions and how often do I attend?

A therapy session is usually a 50 minute period, unless we have made a different arrangement.  In most cases, therapy requires a weekly commitment which can be long or short term depending on your needs, situation, and goals. How long therapy lasts will be an ongoing conversation that we will have during the course of your treatment.

What is the benefit of an in-home vs. an in-office session?

Each client is unique, some benefit from bringing the therapist into their home to see behaviors and responses in their living environment. Whereas others find it most helpful to enter a separate controlled space outside the home to work on processing their emotions. I am happy to work with you to find what type of intervention will be most helpful for improving you or your child’s mental state.
